Chestnut Festival in Pelion

In Xourichti Pelion, a mountain village next to the famous Tsagarada every year at the end of October the now well-established chestnut festival is held in the large open-air area on the left as Xourichti is built.

Visitors will have the opportunity to taste natural fresh chestnuts either boiled or grilled and accompanied with local Pelion wine (since as stated in an informative poster “chestnuts need wine and walnuts need honey“) and to learn about several local products presented and offered at the stands by local producers and cooperatives.

Xourichti as well as the Tsagarada belongs to the municipality of Mouresi. All the municipal districts of the municipality are built on the green slopes of Pelion , perhaps the most beautiful part of the beautiful mountain.

It is the first village of the municipality of Mouresi that you will meet coming from Milies, which is the easiest route to find most parts of eastern Pelion and the beautiful Aegean beaches of the mountain.
