Vyzitsa is a beautiful village of Pelion at an altitude of 500 meters and just 30 kilometers from the capital of the prefecture of Magnesia, Volos.
It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Pelion due not only to the beauty of the natural landscape but also to the village itself, an open-air museum of traditional Pelion architecture. This is also the reason why Vizitsa has been officially declared a preserved settlement, which you will understand almost immediately from the first walks or rather glances that you will take in the houses of the village.

In Vizitsa what will immediately impress you are the large traditional, well-preserved and in some cases, decorated with beautiful old paintings. Most of them have been converted into elegant guesthouses that operate all year round, since the nature of the mountain and especially the favourable location of Vizitsa is ideal for escapes all year round.

Once you reach the village it is worth walking along the stone cobbled path that starts on the right of the square as you ascend from the parking lot. Wander between the mansions to reach the hill with the stunning view of the Pagasitikos Gulf and the village. If you climb a little higher then from the plateau you can see much of the southern part of Pelion as well as the neighbouring and beautiful village of Milies.

And there is nothing better after such a particularly beautiful but perhaps a little tiring walk than returning to the beautiful central square of Vizitsa. This square has an almost fairy-tale-like appearance and can certainly be included among the three most beautiful squares of the villages of Pelion and among the most beautiful squares of mountain villages in Greece.
