Where else can you ski in the winter and swim in the summer and within walking distance? With unique and beautiful beaches that are a 10-minute drive from the ski resort? But of course in the magical Pelion, a destination that 100% represents the perfect destination that we characterize as “mountain/sea”
The beaches of Pelion and its villages
You may have heard them before and we have collected them in this photo gallery dedicated to some of the most beautiful and most famous beaches of Pelion. Such as Mylopotamos, Aghii Saranda, Plaka, Potistika, Paltsi and Papa Nero , which are located a short distance from the famous squares of Tsagarada and Vyzitsa .

See also some relatively unknown destinations such as the island of Paleo Trikeri, the seaside Agia Kiriaki, Kalamos, Xynovrisi and the beautiful bay of Tzasteni.
Summer in Pelion
The famous squares of Pelion such as the one in Makrinitsa , Portaria , Tsagarada, Vizitsa, Mouresi, Kissos and elsewhere, with their huge plane trees, offer important breaths of fresh air during very hot summer days.
In fact, in times of heatwave , there are many who prefer them during midday, changing the bathing time for the more afternoon and usually cooler hours.

Is there traffic in Pelion?
During the summer months and during peak hours, if you decide to swim at one of the most touristic and famous beaches, such as Mylopotamos or Agioi Saranda, during the weekend, it is advisable to go early in the morning (until 10am) because parking spaces disappear later and gradually.
In fact, this can be a problem in places like Agios Saranda with narrow, steeply sloping roads that make parking and manoeuvring difficult when the narrow roads are already occupied by parked cars.
This is because Pelion is a favourite destination even in summer because of the wonderful beaches on both sides (Pagasitikos and Aegean) and of course for the sought-after coolness we described above.

Finally, see below the photos that follow the map with the geographical locations of the destinations shown in the photos.
Hotels in Pelion
The heart of Pelion in summer is on the eastern side of the island towards the Aegean Sea, while the most touristic area with the most hotels and guesthouses is in Agios Ioannis.
On the eastern side of Pelion you will find famous and beautiful beaches such as Milopotamos, Agii Saranda and Fakistra, beautiful villages such as Tsagarada , Mouresi, Mouresi, the Zagora and seaside tourist destinations such as Agios Ioannis and the less touristy but beautiful Dancing (very close to the beach of Agioi Saranda).
