If you have decided to stay in Athens during the Easter holidays then you will certainly have the opportunity to move around in a city that is much more comfortable in terms of traffic, parking and crowding in some nightlife areas.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to experience the Resurrection of Holy Saturday in perhaps the most beautiful spot to enjoy the view of Athens at night that shines in contrast to the day that shows its grey face. What is this spot?
But of course the Lycabettus Hill and the chapel of Agios Georgios that dominates the top of it.

Christ is risen in Athens
The view to the Acropolis and the Parthenon, Syntagma, the Hilton and the entire brightly lit basin in general is breathtaking for anyone who is there for the first time. You can listen to the Resurrection service either inside the small chapel, as long as you get there well before 12 noon to find a seat, or simply stay in the courtyard with the unique view and say Christ is Risen while watching the fireworks shooting into the Attic sky from various churches in the suburbs of the city.

You will have panoramic view and it’s really worth sitting on the hill after the Christ is Risen service, gazing towards the parking lot and the Lycabettus theatre at the crowd coming down and the trail they leave behind them holding the lit candles from the Holy Light .

Access to Lycabettus
There are three ways to get to Lycabettus Hill. Either by car, which you leave in the large parking lot next to the Lycabettus Open Theater, or on foot, following the perimeter road above Kolonaki and then climbing the large stairs (you need to be relatively fit unless you stop at the benches to see Athens as you go up), or by cable car at Kolonaki, specifically at the end of Aristippou Street.
