Photos from the always risky and at the same time highly impressive air show that they held on Monday 23 May 2011. The British Red Arrows, one of the world’s best aerobatic squadrons, took the breath away in Athens and specifically over the Saronic Sea opposite Paleo Faliro at the height of Flisvos.

The demonstration took place in the context of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Greek Air Force. The Red Arrows squadron are considered the representatives of the British Royal Air Force and therefore the selection of the 9 pilots that make up the squadron is made with strict criteria, their training is one of the most intensive and the shows they perform are considered among the most difficult and demanding.
The team was founded in 1965 and since then has performed more than 4,000 shows in 53 countries!

The Red Arrows were indeed English on time and made their appearance over our heads exactly according to the schedule that wanted them to appear at half past 4. The show lasted about 23 minutes during which they took the breath away several times from the spectators and the many unsuspecting people who were on the beaches from the height of Alimos to Piraeus yesterday afternoon.

Although the atmosphere yesterday was not the best possible for watching the aerobatic displays of the Red Arrows, for example the well-known design of the heart and the arrow through it could not be seen at all as the white smoke of the formation was lost in the white clouds, for the most part the world enjoyed the risky manoeuvres and perfect formations performed by the British Air Force pilots with their Hawk T1 (BAE Systems) aircraft.
