The Menalon ski center is only 170 km from Athens with easy access as the route to the two “entry” points to the mountain are few and usually clear of snow and ice. So a few kilometers after the isthmus of Corinth you will turn left for Tripoli. You will reach Artemisio and a couple of minutes after you exit the tunnel you will see a large catering area on your right. you will continue and a few kilometers later there is an exit from the national road to Vytina and Dimitsana. Be careful because the sign is close to the exit and if you go fast there is a chance that you will not have time to turn right.

The first and shortest route to the Menalon ski resort is from Kardaras, turning left at the junction you will find in the village of Neos Kardaras. We did it recently (early January 2012) and apart from some big potholes just before the ski resort we didn’t find any other spot that needs attention. (apart from the narrowness of the road and the steep horseshoes that are classic in the mountainous areas of Greece).
The second route is from Vytina. Passing the new Kardara, you will meet the beautiful village of Levidi, Vlacherna and head towards Vytina. After the first entrance to Vytina you will find the road on the left that will take you up to the ski resort of Mainalo. Both mountainous sections of the route (from Kardara and Vytina) are beautiful and offer you the opportunity to admire from a distance the famous fir forest of the famous for its beauty mountain of Arcadia.
