The Corinth Archaeological Museum was built in 1931-32 and its architect was W. Stuart Thompson. It houses finds from prehistoric times to the late Byzantine period. In particular:

  • Collection of prehistoric times
  • Collection of Geometric, Archaic, Classical, Hellenistic times
  • Collection of sculptures / inscriptions
  • Collection of Asclepieion finds
  • Collection of Roman and Byzantine times

The archaeological site of Ancient Corinth is located on the north side of Acrocorinth, around the archaic Temple of Apollo, which is the most important monument of the exterior.

The twin Kouroi of Clénia

The last important addition to the Corinth Museum is the twin Kouroi of Klenia, which is the only archaic funerary “statue regiment” in Greece. Their fate brought them into the hands of antiquities thieves who were arrested in 2010. After restoration, the two beautiful Kouroi of Klenia were placed in a temporary location in the Corinth Archaeological Museum in the summer of 2011.
