Andritsaina is a small town on the border of the prefectures of Ilia and Arcadia (it belongs administratively to Ilia) that stands out as you can see from afar the dozens of old houses and mansions with their tiled roofs. It is built amphitheatrically on the slopes of Mount Lykaion at an altitude of about 750 metres.

It is worth walking around and climbing up to the highest alleys to enjoy the view of the wider area and the settlement which, although it was burnt to the ground by Ibrahim’s troops in 1826, with the care and courage of its inhabitants, has found its vitality and traditional character again.
It can also be a stopover destination for the unique ancient temple of Apollo Epicurean which is located in the area of Vasses, just 14 km from Andritsaina. In addition, you can stay in the small town to visit from spring and afterwards the Neda, the legendary river that runs through and through the homonymous and unique gorge.

However, it is worth spending more time in Andritsaina as apart from the mansions and the Peloponnesian architecture, you will have the opportunity to visit the public library where you will find rare manuscripts and publications from the 15th century as well as documents of great historical importance related to the French and Greek revolutions.
